he St Denys Hotel in York has been owned by the same family since it first opened its doors twenty years ago.


Throughout this time an international reputation for friendly service has been built.Many visitors return again and again. We are proud of our reputation and look forward to welcoming you for the first time. St Denys Hotel has an enviable location within the walls of the historic City of York. Like all really old cities, York is compact, St Denys Hotel offers the ideal base from which to explore this beautiful city, at your leisure. St Denys Hotel was originally the rectory of the ancient parish church of St Denys and has religious associations dating from Roman times. The first Christian church was probably built on the current site before the Norman conquest.A 'Church of St Denys' certainly existed there by 1154 and parts of this Norman church can still be seen in the present building which also contains one of the finest collections of medieval stained glass in York. At The St Denys we offer free onsite parking to our guests. Please note that the car park is small with limited spaces ad if offered on a first come first serve basis.

Directions
From the A1 or M1 take the A64 LeedsYork road. From the A64 take the A1079 exit into York. Follow this road for about 2 miles. At the traffic lights at the city walls (Walmgate Bar) take the middle lane and drive through the Bar. After approx 12 mile the road bends left on the one way, the hotel is on your left, opposite the Church of St Denys.
